FFLC will work in partnerships with local governments and community institutions to foster the provisioning of basic infrastructure and local services as well as training to unleash local growth potential. Specific investments will include:
Small local infrastructure such as foot paths, foot bridges, latrines and multi-purposes community structures, etc. These activities will require the full participation of local communities from design to implementation, monitoring and evaluation, thereby establishing a culture of local ownership of the public good, and downwards accountability to citizens.
Working closely with local institutions, formal or informal, to develop strategies and approaches to solve their problems and to enhance the quality of their lives and sources of livelihood. We firmly believe that the creation of public value for citizens and the institutionalization of accountable and responsive local governments are the critical building blocks of a modern and accountable state.
